2015 Wrap Up & 2016 Game Time!

Dear readers, followers and fans,

2015 has been a very interesting year with many events – from the positive, to the soul crushing, to beyond exciting. That’s been my life for the last few years since I embarked on this journey and path. And it never stopped once.

The last six months of my life have been quite sour to taste in some ways, as much as sweet to the eye.  I learned that success is only a small portion of the equation, but it is the most rewarding when you see results.

So what’s the hap?

Behind the Scenes: Nike NTC Arabic & Yasmina Collaboration:

December of 2015 has been a very exciting month as I have teamed up with Nike for their big Nike NTC Arabic app launch. And they were accompanied by Yasmina (<—Click link) – an Arabic online magazine that highlighted a day of my life in Akron Ohio where I have moved to train beginning of last year. They have visited me in my home to film the entire DAY. What a long day it was for me. We started filming from 7:00am till 10:30pm at night! I lived donuts mostly that day *Yum*.

Here’s the NTC APP Video:

Training and Competition Updates:

As I mentioned in the first half of the post, that this year had some soul crushing news – somehow, I managed to get an injury (without a specific day or training session really) – which has caused me a major set back for a bit. I have gotten a herniated disc, which has been causing me a lot of pain in the last few months and simple tasks such as sitting and standing (cleaning the house), let ALONE cleaning the bar, has been daunting.

The doctor advised me against lifting completely for a while as it could heal on its own if it’s left alone, but could cause lifetime issues if not – but I worked my BUTT off in the last 3 years, to NOT do just that. So instead, I have been scaling many things in my training and listening to my body and how it reacts to certain exercises – what it can and cannot handle during a certain day. Take three days off in a row if I have to.

Once again, I started over.

So now I am focusing on rebuilding my strength and core, and doing very little actual Olympic Weightlifting in the next two months until my body is ready and strong enough to handle heavier loads.

Asian Olympic qualifiers in April, 25 – 30 2016.

This is IT! Finally, 2016 is here. After all those years working toward this one goal. It’s finally here. This is the qualifier that I will be competing at with the UAE team when I move back to the UAE in a couple of months to prepare and fight for a spot at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Therefore, I am CAMPAIGNING to raise funds for the final stretch and need support from the UAE and private entities to reach this goal and get the necessary physiotherapy required to get back into the game soon and  STRONG.

CrowdFunding Campaign

To raise partial of the funds,  I have launched a new campaign to raise $10,000 (AED36,800). There are fun rewards; limited edition autograph, 2016 signed calendar, hiring me as a speaker and more!  If you want to contribute, you can via LaunchGood website ( to make a contribution! Hurry up – it’s a 30 day campaign.

I have started a new #AMNAVBLOG series which is weekly videos of me giving motivation and training tips, diet tips and more on my youtube channel #999fitness. Check it out, and don’t forget to subscribe!

Goat Tape – New supporter!

Excited to announce that Goat Tape – athletic tape used by athletes for their wrist, hand, cover up rips and more – have now teamed up with me and supporting me with their highly DURABLE tape. I abolsutely love it.  No more stopping your session to re-use athletic tape often and often again that constantly slips and doesn’t stick. What I also like about Goat Tape, is that you can design YOUR own tape for your gym or personal brand. That’s awesome! Check them out on Instagram HERE. <3

Also, thanks to my always and forever awesome sponsor PurePharma for all they do for me month after month and appreciating me as an athlete! I truly <3 PurePharma as a sponsor, they are with me through the good and the bad, and keeping me healthy. Make sure to stay up to date with their #HealthyFuture challenge during January by signing up!

Thank you for taking the time to read my post and don't forget I am all over social media and recently joined SnapChat (AmnaLifter), to follow my day to day journey and updates!
Wishing you all a happy new year! <3
